I liked it. The visuals are charming and atmospheric. The music's nice. And the combat gets the job done.

Most of the characters are pretty simple though. .And I could understand why some people found the rhyming gimmick grating after a while.

Yes. The story isn't special, just your basic fairy tale. But it embraces the fairy tale aspect - the story is told in rhyme. Its a fun game, very cute, but in a good way, unless you're worried about being perceived as a child.
