By being a war clan and raiding the shit out of your neighbors for cattel and land.
Take slaves.
Build shrines.
Sacrifice stolen cows.
Set up trade networks.
Start becoming op'd.
When asked to stop raiding by weaklings...raid them anyways.
Become king of dragon pass over 30 years of raiding, raping, and building.


Also!
Be careful of the beastmen. Raiding the ducks is fun, but it's easier to just extort them for monthly cows.
This is also a reasonable compromise for the clans you're raiding.
