Healers are always the lowest skill players. Evidenced by the fact that despite healing being the easiest role in literally every game its in, the healer always begs for thanks and cries if they aren't being praised constantly and thanked for healing. No other role will you find thanks-begging. It's pathetic.

One thing about Overwatch that makes me happy is how Blizzard managed to show everyone that you can make perfectly alright looking female characters that show no skin.

We have had many "redesigns" by tumblr users that cover up existing characters, and for the most part they don't look very good. But if you design a female character as being almost fully covered from the ground up, they can be very cool. Tracer, Sombra, Mercy, Mei, Zarya, D.va, etc.

Overwatch's playerbase is gigantic, and yes, a good portion of it is women. It has, both in relative and absolute numbers, many more women than most games.

I hope other developers and publishers take note.

It's true-ish. A mercy can lose the game because of bad teammates because Mercy is not a carry hero, but at the same time Mercy players are also stupid because she is a low skill cap character.

Mercy is a poorly designed character in general, her entire value comes from her res, and now that she's played more it's made the game into 'find the mercy hiding in a corner somewhere'. As much as people complained about Lucio and Ana being the healers to play, the game was more fun for it than having Mercy be a thing.

I main Mercy because I suck rank donkey ass when it comes to shooters, but it's hard to turn down my friends when they want to play, especially since one of them gifted me the fucking game in spite of me repeatedly telling them not to because I didn't want to feel obligated to play a genre I suck at. Still, it grew on me a bit, and now I play Mercy about 40% of the time, Reinhardt maybe 35% of the time, and random crap that I'm bad with the other 25% of the time.

I'm not gonna pretend like I don't suck, but I am regularly told I'm a decent Mercy, so that makes me feel a little bit better about the whole situation. Apparently most QP Mercy players don't even bother using damage boost, and just run around with their pistol out for half the match despite damage boosted offense characters seemingly doing more damage. I don't do that so people tend to be happy with me.

Mercys'll do some weird shit because she's the most "active" healer and has to commit to it fully. Lucio and Zenyatta do their healing pretty much automatically and Ana demands high awareness and dexterity above what the other healers warrant. An Ana that can't fucking aim is a drain on the team.

But at the same time, they're healing. I can't get upset with someone that's actually playing the passive role while I actually play an FPS slaughtering people.

I do play a lot of Pharah though so I get nervous when Mercys start pocketing me and following me around. I'm one thing, but a healer floating around in the air is a bright glowing target.

I like playing healer because i find it oddly satisfying to watch people's health bars fill up.

As long as there's teammates with you just dash everywhere, and try to use them as shields.
As a main tracer I can tell you that this is the main issue I have when killing Mercy's. If they dash onto their team, it's fucking difficult to dash accordingly so that you can aim properly AND have the Mercy in sight.
It's a matter of seconds, a whole second of Mercy passive healing herself by healing someone else is a huge amount of HP the tracer has to compensate on her next clip.

But heh, sometimes the tracer will just perfect clip you and insta kill you, nothing you can do about that.

Why do heal players always try to take moral high ground on their class choice?
We all know healing is easymode in every game, that's why so many people find it boring.
There's not a lot of room for individual play and in MMOs padding your numbers to top healing meters doesn't mean that you did "better" than other healers. No, just being Mercy. Ana, Lucio and Zen take way more skill than Mercy. Lucio used to be a low skill hero until they nerfed his area of effect. Ana takes good aim with two different weapon types and really good ability management. Zen takes timing, focus and aim. Plus he's sort of a DPS in some way. Lucio takes timing and mechanical skill in the form of shooting and movement/positioning. Mercy holds down M1 and presses shift from time to time. Then she can just press Q and be invincible while getting PotG. She's the entry level healer.

There's a good balance of condensing and spreading out. Ideally you have a good triangle formation between back, top flank, and pushers. Think of Numbani on defense. No wonder this game has shitloads of players it's literally an FPS for people that can't aim.

Just make all the support characters monstrous or inhuman. For example, in WoW, Priests who roll as a Tauren, Troll, or Goblin, are usually pretty chill and cool people. On the other hand, Blood Elf Priests are by far the most cancerous group of people I have ever seen in an MMO. Take a look at Dota. Most support heroes in are monsters, and as such, the game doesn't attract a lot of females or faggots. The women who do play Dota, you guessed it, 9 times out of 10 only play Crystal Maiden, which is really the only real "cutesy" support hero.

tl;dr Make Support heroes monsters to repel faggots and women
