OP was hyperbolizing, yes, but it's still not the masterpiece people claim it to be. The fact that's its so spoken for by fans (and not so by critics) is because it's when TES became truly mainstream and it was most people's first TES game.
It has giant flaws that prevent it from being enjoyable. I like the quests and the music though

you entirely missed the point. your expectations are too high for what the bar was at during 2005. it is a good game in retrospect, but you refuse to believe that because every year video games try to set the bar higher. assuming you never played TW3, 10 years from now i guarentee you'd play it and say it's trash, despite high praise, winning goty, and being a gold standard for RPG's
Oblivion can be great but like Skyrim mods are a requirement
