it was released sometime in the early 00's

the plot was something like
>humanity tries to colonise local systems
>a bunch of colony ships warp through space with no contact because le hyperspace
>one ship ends at its destination but has no contact with Earth or any other colony for like a year
>they send a scouting force back to Earth to see what's up
>fucking robots everywhere
>but not in the cool way, more in the "here's Tribes 2 environments meet Far Cry foliage and some robot enemies"
>the gameplay was kind of mediocre too
