I'm actually excited for this. If you pre-order you get early access and it's only 40 bucks on psn. I don't like gearbox but Epic makes quality stuff, whether you like their style or not.

It's basically a co-op tower defense game in 3D. You go into a new map every game and have to defend objectives by building but you also have a home base that you can build onto. I don't think anyone can come attack it except zombies.

fortnite is a spiritual successor to orcs must die, a lot of the team from OMD2 came over to epic to work on fortnite. They're really different games, but I have a feeling state of decay 2 will be far more successful given its an exclusive.

Don't get too excited, outside of some of the base building elements like trap mazes and whatnot, there's not a lot of similarities. There's a much larger focus on a large amount of instances to hop into to hunt for gear, and only really going to your base when hordes show up.

I kind of doubt it. Epic can pretty much just treat their games as an advertisement for their engine at this point. Gearbox, on the other hand, is probably still on the ropes from Battleborn and the two remasters they tried to publish-they need a project that pays a lot.
