YO I JUST REALISED SOMETHING
It isn't called mario odyssey just because mario travels the world.
In Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus wife, Penellope, is surrounded by potential suitors, who try to force her to marry one of them, since odysseus has been gone for 20 years and is believed to be dead. (the battle for Troy lasted 10 years, his trip back another 10, making him one of the last, if not the last greek king to return to his land.)
So when Odysseus finally comes back, he kills them, and takes back his throne.
What is one of the most notable things in the trailers? Bowser is actually marrying Peach, without her consent, and Mario is called to save her.
Mario even wears a wedding costume (like the one bowser wears) in one of the trailer shots.
So, who's to say that mario won't marry peach at the end of this adventure, just like odysseus reconclined with his wife, That would an interesting ending in my opinion.

Like the potential suitors in odyssey, they must benefit in some way from this wedding. (Maybe Bowser paid them in someway or he has something they want) just like the suitors wanted her because if they married her, they would rule over the land
