Is the second one as good as the first? Considered picking it up

I thought it was ok, think changing the sniper Indian into a cowboy was the most offensive sensorship I've ever seen

I liked it more due to the quality of life changes and the new classes but apparently that's an uncommon opinion.

It improved on the first in a lot of ways. The new characters are pretty mediocre though.

Gameplay is even better so there is that.

Gameplay wise yes, but story and character wise it's a huge step down.

Pros:
>Magic is now endgame viable thanks to a spellcrafting job you get early on, which made it much more fun gameplay-wise.
>No repeated content like in the first part.
>Still has those beautiful backgrounds.

Cons:
>Music no longer done by Revo. It's not terrible, but doesn't live up to the first game.
>New characters are kind of shit. Magnolia's personality is completely different from the trailer.
>Storyline in general is a bit wonky. There are lots of points to make, but talking about them risks mentioning spoilers.

gameplay is alright, story is fun enough to follow but not anywhere as impactful as the original

Many of the classes are utterly useless unless you plan on breaking the game with cheap tricks. That's always been my main complaint with the default games.

this. i liked the first game, but was very bothered tbecause to do any post-game content you had to rely on some kind of cheap trick. you couldn't use the strategies/classes that you'd been working on the whole game
