We know there's arts customization options. There's almost certainly going to be stuff you can do to make those cooldowns go by faster, just like how every other Xenoblade game has the fights become faster as you level up and upgrade your arts.

Auto-attack speed is a stat in the game. And you can lvl up your artes too so the possibility of them being fully charged at the start it's not farfetched. The first two games you could use them at the start but the cooldowns were long too so don't try to deny. XCX enemies were hp sponges too

Being able to pilot psuedo-transformer gundams and explore a big ass wild planet was the thing about XCX that drew me in.

THey say that the game will definitely get more graphical polish in the next 4-5 months. I'm not worried about this game in comparison to X, all they need to work on are some more foliage model implementation and better textures. Gameplay looks to be almost done, maybe missing some particles or flash or what have you to make the combat look a bit speedier and impactful.

The dub is still in the making, wich is why some voice lines are in japanese. Now i initially thought that the game was going to be released in Q2 of 2018, so as to give the devs enough time to be done with and polished well enough.

However seeing that it comes on this year's holidays im a bit concerned that they might be under pressure here to deliver.

Tetsuya Nomura has actually been on a streak of fantastic designs recently.

Whoever the main character designer for XC2 is, they have MUCH less restraint. And I'd argue even Nomura's most convoluted works use repeated elements (yes, like belts and zippers) to more easily guide the eye around the design... though again, there are many exceptions due to how prolific he is (Seymour is made of like 8 unique non-repeating forms and symbols and aaagiuhgihg).
