You're gonna need to do a bit of research online & some youtube vids if you want them gorillian stats. It's all pretty straightforward just that the grinding mechanic's layered upon layered of things to do.
It's honestly the best jrpg imo. Enjoy it anon.
Which part or stuff you don't understand?
Don't bother grinding much or focus too much on item world if you're on story mode, do that after the main game.

It all depends on whether or not you like the characters, the story of 5 is ok, it doesnt really stand out on its own, but its not terrible either. Some characters get little development, others get quite some, but the whole pacing of the game feels like a saturday morning cartoon at some point.

Character is presented, faces his troubles, overcomes it and power up his overload ability or acquires it.

The game has the best mechanics of the franchise but the post game content is a little barren.

This Disgaea is all about grinding and finding the most efficient way possible to do so. Usually the main storyline is pretty easy but they do not fuck around once you get to post game content.
