The story is interesting enough but yes, the combat can get a bit repetetive and some of the gameplay mechanics are just not fun. If you can stomach it and you are in it for the story you'll have a good time though.

I can't speak for wherever you're from, but it's been on sale quite a few times on European PSN.

Just an FYI, get the PS4 version, not the PS3 version. PS3 version has crashing issues, while the PS4 version doesn't, and has other benefits like more story content.
