I feel like they actually had some TESVI stuff to show at E3, but after seeing the backlash from Fallout 4, decided to scrap it and start over. It probably had the shitty voiced protagonists and dialogue wheel, and maybe even settlement building.

I really want to get a new game set in Akavir, and I feel like Bethesda's gonna find a way to keep dragon's somehow because normal fags might not buy the game without them.

I can't believe they've had six years and they haven't worked on it at all. I'm not asking them to release it any time soon but I was really hoping they'd put a lot of effort into the game. But now that it turns out they haven't worked on it even a little bit in the last six years I've lost a lot of hope. Even if it comes out in four or five years from now that still doesn't give them much time to make a good game.

I was and am still big Bethesda fanboy who defended all the TES games again and again.
But I swear if they fuck everything with their god damn paid mod kikery I'll be done with them. Mods made the games what they are.
The fact that they want to milk this for more corporate money is so disappointing to me.

They "work" on the game for a few years, but only really work on it a year before launch rushing out randomly generated dungeons to touch up, randomly generated terrain they touch up, and focusing most of their effort on voice acting and marketing. Neither of which they do particularly well.
They are fully aware that mod creators will fix their game for free. Bethesda is only concerned with creating a base game that will have mass market casual appeal.

There are things that Morrowind did better but Skyrim is still the best. And Oblivion is just literally broken, literally.

They obviously need to move to a completely new engine for starters. Not the old shitty engine they have been reworking forever now.

Witcher 3 upped the game for what a AAA RPG is supposed to offer and if VI tries to evolve from Skyrim like Skyrim did from Oblivion and Fallout 4 did with Fallout 3 then they are going to be in for major backlash.

AI is going to be another major area where huge improvement is going to be expected. They have a massive task and they can't coast this one on a reworked engine this time so they are going to have to be doing a LOT of new innovative stuff outside their comfort zone.

I honestly don't think they're up to the challenge but would like to be proved wrong.

Well, I made that graph. I started the series with Skyrim and went backwards. To me Oblivion felt like a better game than Skyrim, and Morrowind felt like a better game than Oblivion. I think it's just the fact that Skyrim is barely a role-playing game and none of your choices matter. Skyrim is just less complex in areas that didn't need to be simplified, and it waters down the experience.

Lore-scale Argonia. The first fully voxel-based idtech 6 game. Big return of generated content. Made for VR.

Not him, but I started with Morrowind, skipped Oblivion and many years later got Skyrim. When I went back to Oblivion all the dungeons felt pretty samey (same problem Skyrim had). It was pretty atmospheric and immersive but I wasn't really having a lot of fun with it.

Like literally everything else bad in gaming, it's consoles fault. Oblivion and Skyrim both targeted the same platforms - 360 and PS3. Skyrim had significantly higher base fidelity, and so had to cut back on detail density.
