Never touched it after brawl came out, don't necesary see it as a better game either. Don't get me wrong, I played the crap out of it. But brawl had more characters, looked better and my friends all enjoyed it thus also making it more enjoyable to play.

And I am happy with 4 since it's a step in the right direction again + 8 player mode is just awesome

I get that marth is superior since he reaches max hp dmg at the tip of his sword versus roy's dmg being closest to the handle. also roy's recovery is bullshit. still doesn't deserve lower than DK though.

Because Roy only has high knockback near the hilt, his moves are really easily crouch-cancellable if you hit with the tip. He's got all of the downsides of a sword (long endlag and no long lasting hitboxes) without the benefit (actually usable range).

Roy is an unfinished and nonfuctional character.
His hitboxes just aren't on some moves. His hits don't combo well and he can't keep people out with his wiffle bat of a sword.
All around he's just bad.

All through Nintendo's E3 conference a re-release of this game for the switch is all I wanted.

yeah man, it was supposed to be a party game- it was marketed as such and Nintendo tried to crush competitive play for it, but melee (and 4 now) have surpassed that hard and now it's an undeniable esport.

brawl is fine if you just want to fuck around with your friends, I'll give you that. Float your way back to recovery every time etc. That's why competitive players hated it- they saw it as nintendo trying to fuck with their dreams of playing smash at a competitive level again.

That's why Project M exists. That's why melee which came out a million years ago still sees more play than brawl. Have fun with brawl, just don't pretend that isn't a casual thing to do.

MewTwo isn't a good character.
It would be like trying to iceskate up hill to try and win a tourney with him.
Mew2king does occasionally scrub stomp with the character however.

As for buying hair. I don't think he has all that much money even with all his wins. It's not like Maylay prints money and tourney wins are not stable income.

Melee fans are by and large fans of Melee out of circumstance and necessity, since the only game developers seemingly willing or able to incorporate and expand upon Melee's style of play are unsanctioned modders.

Melee fans refuse to move on because unlike the rest of the FGC, they have nothing to move on to. Unfortunately that means their community has become a stagnant, autistic pile of shit because they've had to make due with the same shit for over a decade.
