How likely is it that Denuvo will make games unplayable in the future? Don't care about pirates but i already have a bunch of games in my bookshelves that i can't install anymore because of securom and other drm nonsense.
>>
>>381324443
Denuvo makes games unplayable in the present, so I'd say there's a 100% chance of them making games unplayable in the future.
>>
>>381324443
Remember Starforce and its literal malware drivers?
So yeah, very likely.
>>
>>381324443
Denuvo works by sending signals back to their servers to authenticate the copy so once those go down you can say bye bye to the game you payed for.
>>
>>381322438
wrong bcuz denuvo was never removed.
>>
>>381323570
This. Fucking Senran Kagura on the Vita was the last time I fell for those tricks. And I don't mean buying a game for T&A, but trusting anons who let their dicks do the thinking. Nier was so bad that I couldn't bother finishing the first loop - it made the Korra game look like a masterpiece.

If it hadn't been cracked I would have bought it on sale eventually and I would have been fucking pissed.

Sooner or later game services and publishers will go down and be replaced with others and it is really sad to think about the amount of games that will be made unplayable.

Mod support and steady updates are a much better anti-piracy tool than Denuvo, but I suppose most companies want to make a quick buck without all the effort.

>pirate Planet Coaster and realize ita not that fun to build shit like Silvarrets videos show because the build syatem is infuriatingly tedious requiring a blueprint for everything to copy seperate builxing parts and buildings cant be merged on the spot - insanely non-efficient which makes me wonder how anyone can put up with it
>lose all desire to build things in Planet Coaster (non themepark things) which was the only reason I wanted to play in the first place and there was no demo available for me to try for myself how crappy the build system was
>proud of myself for holding out all this time waiting for a possible crack which came just next year and not giving the devs money I can't afford to spend on vidya for a game that went below my expectations and a game I only wanted to play for one part of it not the theme park and coaster stuff

Based Steampunks saved me money I couldn't afford to waste
>>
>>381324843
Unless you downloaded a crack of course
>>
>>381327831
Planet Coaster is pretty disappointing
Bought it for 37€ back in the winter sale, regret it
It might look pretty, but thats basically it
And the coaster building actually works a lot better in the terrible Rollercoaster Tycoon World

Would you say it just works?
>>
>>381327980
I didnt try out coaster building, just basic building which I have little experience of so the unintuitive, unnecessarilly complicated and tedious build system where everything is its own seperate building and you cant copy parts of two seperate buildings even with multi-selection without creating a blueprint for the whole thing, then spawning it and dleting parts of it until you get to the parts you wanted to copy from the original itself is inexcusable terrible design

I can't believe I never noticed this tediousness before watching Planet Coaster build videos but its something I had to personally experience to realize how awful of a system it is, and like I said there was no released demo or trial to let me realize it myself, and I disnt have the money for a risky steam refund purchase where if Valve denies the refund you're stuck with a game that ended up disappointing you. So in my mind Steampunks crack was the demo/trial that we should have gotten. If your game has no demo or trial then its getting pirated because I dont have the money to waste on vidya and buying games to try and refund on Steam is risky, and Valve will catch on to it if you do it too much too.

Thankfully Denuvo is being BTFO by multiple crackers now so there will be plenty of demos to try out for the few games I'm interested in.

I thought the only thing it stopped you from modding was the exe. A lot of mods don't even touch the exe, do they?

It's objectively bad. If you like the idea behind it, you should hate it because it gets cracked so easily.

There's this dead-on assumption that crackers are evil people looking to sabotage videogame companies and whatnot. Truth is, it's just a bunch of nerds who do it just because they can or in order to see if they actually can
>>
>>381328912
From the top of my head The Phantom Pain has some decent mods.
Now that I remember Nier has that fan made patch as well which might touch the exe though it could just be dll files I don't totally remember. There's probably some more as well I don't know of.
