How disappointing. I stopped dropping by this shithole since before e3 and missed all the threads about this game. The lack of replies speaks volumes, but I would have liked to see the denial in real time.

Played the testfire. It was fun but really shallow. Every match devolved into the same "Spam dodge and grab until someone wins" shit. 2v2 is a clusterfuck and the online certainly isn't up-to-par if you're not on a wired connection.

If it was 40 bucks I'd consider it but $60 is a bit too much, especially considering Splatoon 2 is coming out next month.

It really needs more content. It feels pretty barebones, even for a fighting game, even though it has probably just as much features as other fighters minus a real story mode. It at least gives you different modes to try, but lack of characters, ARMS being restricted to RNG and grinding, and a clunky online are hurting it.

I don't even know what more could be done. Someone more creative than me needs to come up with more modes. The Party Mode online is actually a really good idea, it just needs a touch more variety. Also 2v2 with tethers being the main 2v2 fighting mode is so fucking awful.

They should have also went more goofy with some stages for Party Mode. It should feel almost Super Smash Bros-esque with silly stage hazards that force players to brawl in different ways. Bombs are whatever. The Kid Cobra is everyone's least favorite map because it's the oddball in a bunch of other serious competitive maps, but if it were the standard for goofy party mode stuff with 4 players, all individual with their own spinners, it would be a pretty fun thing. Throw in stuff like beaches that get flooded and sharks show up as you fight underwater, crazy scientist labs with electric pylons, multi floor arenas with breakable floors, transit stations with some goofy mode of transportation driving in and out, etc. Like I said, more creative people than I can make stuff for it, but I think they need to double down on the party fighter aspect. The game's art style is fucking phenomenal for it and the core gameplay is very fun, it just needs to have more stuff to do.
