I can hit 2200 with a 301 ilvl on PLD but I don't know how accurate this is with the ACT beta plugin in.

Nobody cares. Most people play healers or DPS because of that very reason. They're afraid of being the tip of the spear. So they don't really give a shit if you fuck up because at least someone else is the one doing what they wont.

Tanking is extremely easy. You just run into a pack and piss them off with flash or the equivalent. You keep the enemies in front of you with their backs to the party. You are a glorified punching bag. You have so many tools to keep the enemy focused on you that its hilarious. DPS and healers actually have to pay attention to remain effective. As a tank you can half ass it and still be competent. As a tank you're trading competence for just being the first guy through the door. Honestly, tanks have it easy.

More like force you to do it if you don't want to deal garbage damage with your basic rotation or lose some important buff/debuff, the main reason why are you using that skill. Missing a positional is basically failing to use the skill and wasting a GCD/oGCD.
SAM's positionals are another part of Yoshi's "skill floor" changes. While missing these kenki bonuses translates to less oGCDs (and less damage), it isn't as bad as, for example, not applying trick attack's debuff because you missed the required positional, since you still get kenki from most of your other skills thanks to the level 62 trait (plus Meditation during bosses' long ass limit break animations since they are considered "combat" by the skill). But that extra kenki will increase your potential damage, so the bonus have far more "weight" than the penalty.

You need to buy 90 days of subscription during the campaign period, that is also more or less 90 days (July 1 to September 30). It's basically asking you to not quit the game, like the auto-demolish rule for houses, but, instead of a penalty, you get a reward.
I guess they are planning to stop updating the Veteran Rewards system, or at least give more focus to this new idea since not only it is more attractive to new players, but it may also bring back old players obsessed with these kind of time-limited deals, and reward veterans that aren't planning to cancel their subscription anyway.

People who only care about high end raiding will probably claim that its the same old shit, but it really feels like they upped their game on the little things like quest variety and extra little mechanics that make fights feel different. And Zenos is a top tier antagonist.

If you aren't subbed during these events, you will miss out on their rewards, either forever (FFXI events, /eureka) or until they add these old rewards on cash shop (but now you need to buy them AND get sub time to use them ingame). But even if you buy these items on cash shop, you won't be able to do these events ever again (plus no achievements and no cutscenes on your journey diary), so you are still "missing out on content forever" for not subbing during the event period.
I'm not defending it, I'm just used to it. Finally finished the MSQ. Wasn't nearly as good as Heavensward IMO. Shit was just dragged out so long. 90% of the quests do not move the plot forward, they are just getting ready. You could easily excise the entire Doma storyline and nothing critical would change. Liberating Doma has basically no important impact on the fight for Ala Mhigo, none that couldn't easily be written away. The entire thing was just an excuse to have jap-themed zones.

Lyse is a fucking garbage character, holy shit. She's set up as the main character of the entire expansion, but does absolutely NOTHING except get angry and clench her fists while the other characters come up with the plans and move the plot forward. Then she gets made leader of the resistance for no reason, despite having no leadership skills and being clinically retarded.

The entire Yda shit was also a completely stupid and forced "twist", as it has no effect on the plot at all. Lyse mentions her a few times, but that's it. The entire thing was so fucking pointless because A: the real Yda died before 1.0, so we never even met her and B: the Scions knew Lyse was faking it anyway and so literally nothing comes of the entire thing. They could have just kept her as Yda, written out the whole dead sibling shit, and literally nothing would have changed.

Zenos and Yotsuyu are shit as well. One-dimensional caricatures made up because they didn't like that people were sympathizing with the empire.
