You can get a PS4 for like 250 bucks which plays multiplats better than an equivalently priced PC plus a bunch of nice exclusives like Bloodborne. Play whatever you want but you can't deny that's a very compelling choice

Not really, as I wait for a really good deal on a console (as well as most of the games). I spent 100 bucks on my laptop back in 2010, and just spent another 80 bucks on a new one that I just began using tonight.

I don't think I could get a PC that could compete with the base PS4 for the price I paid for the PS4 (200 bucks last fall), and the games are close enough in price to where the PC doesn't justify the increase in price.

Add to this that I loathe Windows, much preferring Mint, and a budget laptop is all I want.

i live on my own in one of the most expensive cities to live in, my place is small, and i use my computer for work. it makes sense for me to condense all my media needs to my pc, instead of having a fleet of shit that accomplishes together what my pc can do alone.

if you can get by your daily lifestyle using a tablet or netbook or whatever, a console is the more efficient choice. if you buy two or three consoles like my brother on top of needing a mac for video editing, though, fuck dude idk why he wouldn't just invest all that combined money into a single unit

I remember back when I made 15 bucks per hour at a power plant in KS, and some place in California was offering me 40 bucks per hour to move and work there. I rejected them, because the cost of living would go up so astronomically that I would actually be in a worse situation there than I was in Kansas (400 bucks/month rent for a duplex with an attached garage, all wood floors, pet friendly, storage shed in the back yard, huge closets, etc.

it depends entirely on each individual, all memes aside PC has the ability to produce some quality games that console just can't do
such as
RTS
MOBA
MMO
ARPG (although D3 proved that they could very well be made with consoles in mind, it just feels more natural on PC)
and loads more pretty much just the RTS genre covers a wide range of games besides the base building stuff like AoE and Starcraft and can go into things like Men of War and Civilization (although Civ isn't an RTS per se but you catch my drift)

On the other hand there really isn't much to consoles besides exclusive games. So you have to know that you like certain exclusives before investing your money into that console.
As for things like platformers and other things that pretty much need to be played on controller you can always plug a controller into your PC and play with that so console doesn't really get the edge there either.

I feel like the console should be owned by everyone and so should a decent PC. The console should be left in the living room for when your buddies, brother or whoever come over you can throw in FIFA, MK or whatever else with some couch co-op but the PC is where you should personally play and tinker since with PC you can do so much more (such Photoshop, Fruityloops, Flash, etc.)
