Games similar to Mass Effect 2?

Mass Effect 3
The Ur-Quan Masters (Star Control 2), if you ignore it being actually good
Gears

Games that were pretty good if you ignore all gameplay, most of plot and other random bad decisions by devs?

Gears of War
Binary Domain
Vanquish

None unfortunately. Mass effect was classic space opera sci fi done right. It was singular.
But don't ask /v/ it lacks the intelligence level and attention span to read the codex.

Was hoping Anthem was gonna be the next one, but instead it looks like we're getting another Destiny. Still might be a good game though.

Space RPG wise? Only other Mass Effects and Knights of the Old Republic.
Bioware seem to be the only one who realized that RPG doesn't stand for "medieval fantasy shit"

Yeah, been playing a bit of The Witcher but it hasn't pulled me in like Mass Effect did, still got something like 40 hours on it though. Wish I was a bigger fan of Star Wars to enjoy KOTOR.

lol

Knights of the Old Republic is the only similar series.
Kotor 1 is shit and equivalent of TFA in legends. People like it only because of nostalgia.
Kotor 2 is only playable if you are star wars nerd, know all six movies perfectly well and you saw some stuff from legends.

Ironically enough, KOTOR 2 is what introduced me so Star Wars.
If only Bioware didn't completely shaft Mass Effect in favor of Anthem maybe Andromeda would've been the game. Space RPG wise Mass Effect 3 is the only close contender.
If you overlook the space setting, Witcher 3 was the only other universe that pulled me in so deep (inb4 all the MUH WITCHER 3 OVERRATED SHIT that /v/ likes to spout) it was a bloody good experience.
