Best game in the series?
For me, it's a toss up between Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal. GC had better world building while the planets in YA felt, I guess "compact" would be the right word. They felt kind of small, and lacked the atmosphere of the second game. UYA is stronger in terms of gameplay features though.

Going Commando was better imo.
Though this one was good too and had local multiplayer which was cool.

I funny how the second game and onward made playing the first one near impossible.

if you're a faggot maybe

i had a lot of fun playing growing up, i mean a lot. i autistically replayed 10 times all day every day. i was so invested in it i spent a good bit of time just running around insomniac museum, before i unlocked all the titanium bolts. and then when i did that and got the second entrance i did it all over again. i played and enjoyed the fuck out of it but replaying it, it feels like such a grind

Thats not aCiT
>>381303242
without a doubt
>>381303834
It had online multiplayer too. I played the shit out of it.
>>381303242
Yes, top tier multiplayer as well
>>381307474
aCiT second best

>tfw never had multiplayer or friends so just replayed by myself to kill the enemy turrets
Up your Arsenal>Crack in Time>Going Commando=>Remake 2016> The rest

>Gladiator/Deadlocked this low

Going Commando is better, dude
Yeah I'd say that one is my favorite.
Courtney Gears, V8 weapons, bringing back the agents of doom, Galactic Ranger missions, good shit.

>having to go back to the star ship pheonix after every level

>Courtney Gears
Ebin. This shit wouldn't fly these days and that makes me sad.
I liked GC better but UYA was fucking great

i have the feeling people who say this are completely sheltered memelords because there are straight up porn games being made today and you are fucking stupid fuck you. even splatoon has more sexualized girls than a pop culture reference of britney fucking spears
>>381311142
those ranger missions were so fucking boring though. there was just way too many of them. replaying that game is such a god damn chore compared to the second one
>>381303753
the second game had larger levels and those levels had areas you had to come back to later in the game. the second game had way shorter levels and like a million stadium missions and those shit ranger missions.

>This shit wouldn't fly these days
Probably because the subversion of expectations type thing has been so done to death at this point. Back in the day, it was novel because the internet hadn't blown the fuck up out of every possible media outlet known to man.
You're right, it wouldn't fly, and neither would have damn near every referential joke made in games in the past. Duke Nukem wouldn't have taken off either. You Don't Know Jack would have been seen as bullshit garbage.
Times change, my boy.

this. games like doom 2 were a completely different time. no games have gore or anything remotely mature, the only games are mario. its not like grand theft auto 5 has many pop, sexual, or drug references and is one of the most popular games in the world. games like doom 4 will never exist, they couldn't be made today. there aren't even any edgy cartoon animals with 'tude, sonic boom has none of that. no indie games just call of duty what the fuck is going on? ahh the good ol days.. when music was music and people weren't afraid to try somthing new..
