played MCH all of HW, fucking bailed on that job teh secodn I saw how BRD was gonna be updated. All I have to say is I regret nothing!
Sustained high dps, constant song uptime, timing your Troubadeur and songs to the boss' ultimate attack etc.
So much to pay attention to, but man does it finally feel like a proper bard. Heck, the day I hit 70, I got to ilevel 304 because I joined a PUG for Susano EX and farmed him for hours (am 310 now though). Ended up getting BRD bow, SCH book, and 8 currencies so 2 more kill and I am guaranteed SAM sword!
It's starting to look more and more like Bard from "RIFT", which I makes me super happy since it's my favourite interpretation of the class ever.

Also leveling SAM atm, those 25k crits while level 63 makes me super happy. Just sucks that the queues are insanely slow as DPS...

My only salt so far is that a number of the single-story instances have WAY too much HP.

Like, it's no wonder people were having a hard time getting through "Best Served with Cold Steel," as that instance takes like 10+ minutes of whittling to get through.

And it's kinda the same with the Zenos fights. They're neat, but fuck do they last WAY too long. It's not even like you're in serious threat of death unless you're retarded... It's just whittle, whittle, okay finally proc'd the damn story.

Because battlecraft leves are extremely obsolete right now. PvP gives tons of XP, PotD is a thing and Stormblood has a shitton of quests. I actually leveled from 60 to 70 exclusively by doing each dungeon once and by doing quests, and i still have quests left over.

Subbed for the first time and I have no fucking clue what I'm doing.
I'm a level 30 summoner, have mixed level 18-25 armour, have a level 18 quest that has a christmas tree on it and forgot all of the rotations.
How should I try to get better armour? Besides just doing quests obviously.

Vendors can sell you acceptable gear while you level to 50. That link has a list of what vendors sell what level gear.

Summoner has been a nerfed in stormblood but if you're still enjoying it there's no reason not to stick with it. Anyone talking about cucksheds is memeing and doesn't realise that this shit doesn't matter unless you're in the top 1% of players that minmaxes all content.

If you've forgotten rotations just hop into a dungeon or find some mobs out in the world and practise until you get a feel for it again.

The thing is those deaths were meaningful, helped drive the plot forward and for a lot of people unexpected.
Deaths just for the sake of killing off NPCs doent mean much.
That said, in the next few patchs I can see Thancred dying. Since everything they can do with him is done, he cannot use magic anymore and the onky thing he can really do is have closure.

Haven't played new MCH yet but RDM is fun as fuck, very stylish and flamboyant. Loved MCH in HW though- only the opener was a pain in the ass, and that's completely gone now. I'm kind of skeptical of the heat management system but I haven't tried it beyond making sure my keybinds felt good on a target dummy. Seems to be alright. Just that BRD stole the show with its latest rework and awesome raid utility.

Both are priority and proc-based so you don't have to worry about memorizing a chain of moves to do in order. It's better for intuitive types rather than logical, I guess.

Here's a list.

>Because when there are too many characters and you need to remove the bloat, and having every character retire or go on an extended vacation isn't the best way to go about it.

Right now servers are down because of planned maintenance. They'll be up again by 3am PST/ 6am EST. The DDoS was apparently all weekend, but was only really felt in the hours leading up to maintenance today.

Meanwhile ala mhigans had traitors killing their own, domans had traitors killing their own, the 3 main factions fight over resources all the time and note the PVP frontlines is a canon area that the 3 factions are killing each other for.

Azim Steppe instantly became my all-time favourite map in any MMO the second I arrived.
The style, the music, the atmosphere, it was all just on point.
Sure I have a soft spot for nomadic styled things, but this was just very... nostalgic, somehow. It reminded me A LOT of Calm Lands in FFX, somehow gave me the first Monster Hunter feeling as well.

Protip: It wasn't the DDoS, although there was a minor event at the end of the day, Balmung - the most populated server - only reached about 48% capacity, although we at SE like to leave the servers at 25% for stability purposes.

The issue was with the instance management service and the fact that many thousands of players were quite literally failing to complete the trial or taking the full allotted time, so the backend instance queue was backed up to fucking high heaven, not allowing servers to spawn more instances across a datacenter.

Lyse is dumb and her earnest charm is the only thing she has going for her. Alisaie and her were fun to travel with for a while, since it was dumb and dumber and WoL on epic adventures. Lyse with people who are past her point in character development is noticeably lacking and childish. I assume she'll get better but from where I am right now (about to enter the Azim Steppes dungeon) she looks like a huge weight that I'm going to have to drag around Othard until she fucks off to do something right for once.

Now I know why people hated Alphinaud. If the NPC slated for character development via proximity to the WoL isn't in thier strike zone, it can be a long slog.

Possibly. The patches may focus on rebuilding Ala Mhigo in the same was Idyllshire was built up over the course of HW, and Revenant's Toll over the course of ARR. Might be what Yoshi was referring to when he said that Ala Mhigo would "take advantage of the genre".

Okay so, you know, how like going into tank stance on a warrior was the worst thing on the planet, easily the worst penalty of all the tanks, essentially a 43% damage loss and no defensive gain whatsoever until healed.

Not that I've gotten to end-game yet, but from what I've seen Divine Benis is lackluster because the system it relies on sucks.

1) Need lilies, which you can only get from cure I or II on damaged targets
2) Uses all lilies, so fuck you for trying to hoard keep healing you little healslut
3) Using only one lily for it is optimal, since more Assize/Tetragrammatrons are better (fuck Asylum why does it even use lilies fuck you YoshiP)
3) Puts up a barrier but your co-healer should do the same thing more reliably and with less consequence for doing so (assuming you have AST/SCH)

I mean the lily system in general is an attempt to fix WHM's inactivity, I think. Always do SOMETHING: push buttons to get prizes, use prizes to push big fun buttons more often. But they fucked it up by only giving procs from your Cure I and II, and the only thing you get to do with lilies is... heal more. WOW so amazing. It'd feel better to use if procs were granted from Stone casts (still doing stuff), and the lilies could also be dumped into a DPS or GOOD utility skill. I'm not smart enough to think of things in the current kit to make that second part work, though.

It still has scrips and they still suck dick, but they suck less dick than they did before.

- blue scrips are gone, but if you had any left over you can now trade them 1:1 for reds
- you still buy the HW folklore books to unlock more gathering nodes with blue tokens, but the books are only 50 instead of 99 now, and you can trade red tokens for four blues each; this is assuming you didn't already buy them all a couple years ago
- red scrips are uncapped
- they're adding yellow scrips in two weeks as the new high type, but they'll also be uncapped
- red scrip gathering today is far less of a chore due to it being far easier to get collectibles(even in bullshit equipment like me) and them being worth more scrips in general(you'll note the old HW ones still give about jack shit for scrips)
- all HW and SB timed nodes are(or were changed) to have a two game-hour window instead of one, and all spawn twice per game day(some HW nodes had their spawn time changed)
- new collectibles and crafting leves are worth a shitload of exp
- gathering and crafting got a bunch of highly useful new abilities and traits this time around, unlike the useless shit sandwiches they handed out during HW
- even specialist got shit that's legit(all the old specialist actions are still worthless)

So far, so good. The possible hangup is they might go full-fucking-retard again once yellow scrips are on the scene, and god knows with SE it's always one step forward and two back, but here's hoping they're just an extension of the situation now without any added bullshit overhead.

Almost every zone this expansion looks exactly the same. I'd say 4 of the 6 look the same. Ruby sea is kind of unique but its just a big zone thats more annoying that anything and Steppes is the only really unique one and even then its still just grass field with rocks.

The villain is other Imperial factions and the mad scientists they've got working for them. Garlemald has a surplus of mad science/engineering going on it seems, so it would make sense to see more in the vein of Zenos appear.

It would be nice if we could make peace with the Emperor and work with the main faction in Garlemald to stabilize them and make a deal that they actually work with other nations to deal with eikons instead of just trying to genocide everything for safety.

The current emperor seems kind of hesitant to keep on the offensive, not letting Zenos immediately try to take back the wall and all.

All of those places would be complete asspulls. The only one of those that has any real setup is Thavnair, but it's too small to be an entire expansion by itself.

Heavensward was set up with the mysterious isolationist country with the big looming gate and a lot of quests with the player, Stormblood was set up with the Shinobi showing up way back before heavensward even launched and the Ala Mhigan liberation stuff that's been hinted at since ARR.

Thavnair homeland has barely been referenced at all, and the other three are pretty much nothing but flavour text on some item descriptions.

What I'm getting at here is yeah, there are places other than the empire on the planet, but none of them are actually set up in any to be an expansion. All of those places if the expansion was said to happen there people would react with "what? what the fuck is that place?"

Meanwhile an invasion of the empire has been firmly set up with the Stormblood expansion. It's inevitable.

Although, I would not be suprised if Thavnair was a small side zone thing

Each zone was more or less taken from a distinct unique aesthetic from Asian countries.

Steppes was Mongolia, Ruby Sea touched on the Pacific Islands/Philippines, etc. We got the strong Japan and Chinese flavors from Kugane and Yuxia.

The stormblood leitmotif is overused. It doesn't feel special at all as the final boss for dungeons because it's also the Kugane theme, the othard town theme, and the regular battle theme. You hear it constantly.

All three healing classes play very differently from 50 and up. WHM is brain-dead easy, SCH requires forethought and shines best when the player knows the fight's mechanics and timing inside-out, and AST is God of Healing, Buffs, and Utility fuck the other two.

Well, since I'm a faggot that spent 200 dollars and have the map right next to me.

Thavnaria is an island nation right below the Empire's reach smack dab in the middle of the map. They can probably squeeze two zones and a main city out of it.
To the northwest of Eorzea there's an island chain that could easily be another zone, maybe two if they milked it.

We haven't actually touched most of Othard yet. And then there's the giant ass moon crater desert with the big ass worm that we can see from the bottom of the Azim Plains but not enter.
Northwest of Othard is also a mountain region that can easily be a zone.

And the majority of the center of the map is just obscured by clouds, but clearly has a few floating islands of it's own, and most of the clouded part is clearly covering some massive landmass that's definitely larger than Othard and Eorzea combined.

There's also nothing stopping them from pulling a "That was only the Eurasia equivalent of the world map." and pull an Africa/Australia/North and South America out of their buttholes if need be.
