What years does one have to be born in to be considered an "early 2000s kid"?

Late 90s pretty much. I grow up with 6th gen in general so I'm incapable of playing 5th gen games. I doubt I'm missing out in any past games from the 3rd,4th or 5th gen.

Not that many games are worth owning for the PS2.
1994-1996
like 95

you played ps2 at a friend's house and once you got older your parents finally caved to get you a ps3
If you experienced any part of your childhood in the 00s before stuff like the Big Bang Theory, iPhones, etc came out in 2007

Not today their aren't. Metal Gear games have been remastered, Grand Theft Auto games and Devil May Cry, Ico and Shadow of the Collosus as well. Haunting Ground is available on PSN. I lost my list but pretty much every big PS2 game is available somewhere else in better quality.
Rule of Rose is pretty good, but nobody is going to pay the hundreds for that they are going to softmod or pirate it. And since the HD remaster was fucked I guess Silent Hill 2 and 3 still apply.
Still, that's not "many" games.

Most remasters are shit outside of graphics

That commercial brings me back
That'd entirely depend on what you define to be a kid.
If it's <18, it'd be anyone that was under 18 during 2000-2005 then, I guess.

Can you list a few remasters that are worse than the original game for one reason or another?

On the top of my head:
- Ratchet and Clank
- Shadow of the Colossus (increased framerate makes some boss battles harder)
- ZOE1 is better on PS2 and ZOE2SE is playable on PS2 if you can play JP or PAL games

Early 2000s are 2000-2003
2004-2006 is mid 2000s

I'm not seeing Ace Combat, Armored Core 2/3 subseries, Yakuza 2 and Onimusha 1-3 on PSN.
