Not really, they explained in the JP Arcade a few weeks ago it had to do with the technical specs of the 3DS. Their original goal for the game was to hit 3000 badges and they hit over 10000.

The good news is this means they're most likely going to be giving 2 free plays every day like Japan has been getting.

This glitch was also why every catcher released after Pushmo's were fixed in place.

You would press left/right or even better the touch screen since the touch screen works faster than the buttons. You can do it on certain machines early on when it came out in NA and EU, but they wisened up and you can't really do it outside of those specific machines anymore. We do have one of those "No plays and get all the badges" machines in NA/EU, it's the Chain Chomp one that has everything sitting in it on a flat plane. It starts out dropping all the badges and then on the right I think it was a star that's slightly higher than it. If the star falls to the left it's impossible to do it without paying, if it falls to the right and also slightly nudges the Chain Chomp then it will let the entire thing fall after about half an hour to an hour of switching.

There are also several machines even to today that you can mess around with to get a free piece or two, and you can even do it to nudge something off a cliff once you "activated" the piece. I did it to get Pixel Nikki and Pixel Peach to end up falling down their hole once I nudged them and the physics broke them. It seems like machines after Pushmo removed the "feature" at the start though, you have to "Activate" the pieces by either hitting them hard enough with another piece or actually grabbing them before they move and you can do the trick.

If you want examples, Nikki's system badges (The originals) can be pushed off after like three or so hours, and I know that one parrot that rests on the edge of a square piece can also fall off just by shifting machines.

It was released in Japan, but will likely never be released in NA. It was too good a deal, a full catcher of badges for no effort at all and could be done without even needing the badges to spawn in a certain way.
Also the glitch was useful for anything with a little arrow block at the end of a slope, as you could jiggle it a bit and it would fall out withing 5 minutes, letting you slide off 3/4 the thing with a single play.

I was so happy since the rest require you to basically grab the entire board just to get a chance at her. Missed Splatoon Nikki the first time because the last piece slipped out and didn't fall off to the right and I've hated those kind of boards. Shogun Nikki was also a ridiculous one to grab.

Yep. What's your strategy on them because if it's pushing on the right side to get them to move it doesn't always work. Sometimes the one in the center refuses to fall down two steps, other times the one at the end refuses to go even one step, and so on. I hate those ones so much.

You hit the first box with the left side of the claw, then move the second in the same way, then move the third. If you can, you also could just hit the first box and second box at the same time to save a play and make it 4 plays, which is what I do. Plenty of videos exist for it. Not too hard, the only ones that are really awful are those pinhole accuracy ones with the pusher.

Personally I've never had a problem actually landing the hits on these ones, I just hate they're always 4+ medal requirements. Bomb seesaws are also nightmarish since they can potentially be 5+ if you're unlucky with your throws.

Those bomb baskets are way worse than any of the seesaws. Seesaws you just have to be careful with and knock them off the end slowly without trying to mash the ones in the middle. Baskets can turbo fuck you for the last badge in the left side of the basket.
