Is Peace Walker worth playing?

Yes.

Absolutely not. Play MGS 1-4 and ignore everything else that has to do with the Metal Gear series. Trust me.

Absolutely. Just know the real meat of the game is a ton of side quests to do that reuse maps often and leveling your r&d and building equipment. I think that's a bonus, but some people see that as padding. MP is also pretty fun if you can find people. Getting the human slingshot going is top fun.

I'd only consider it padding if you had to do the bullshit to get through the main quests. To me it's all bonus shit to do after so you can keep having fun.
