My only complaint is that RDM has a bit of a learning curve that I'm still not comfortable with but goddamn is it satisfying as shit to build up to 80/80 without fucking up white/black magic order or missing doublecasts then rushing in, unloading your combo and jumping back.

I'm just gonna guess that once I get the rotation down and can do it consistently, it'll end up like every other DPS job where it becomes mindnumbingly dull to just faceroll the same key combination with nothing else to do in content. At least tanking and healing has more to think about at any one time.

No, it depends on what Tank we are on about so I can't discuss lol WAR but DRK had the potency on Unmend lowered and Total Eclipse for Paladin doesn't generate emnity, so you will be spamming Flash or Unleash more than Abyssal/TE.

Not just that but Tanks scale of STR now and we don't have a lot of STR in the left side and we can't even equip STR accs now, so we're pretty fucked, don't even think about dropping Tank stance or you'll get stomped.

Now that the dust has settled, can we agree that those job gauges were awful?

On some jobs, those gauges were unnecessary, effectively making the gameplay worse (SMN, MNK, DRK and MCH for example)

On another jobs, they were half assed just because "every job needs a gauge and we don't care about this particular job", such as SCH, WHM, DRK and NIN.

Honestly the only jobs that had good gauges was BRD, SAM and RDM. The rest are either unnecessary or a hindrance.

And of course, we still can't hide them and display their buffs on the regular parameter bar and floating combat text. It feels awkward as fuck to not see my buffs scrolling down, and having to look at a gauge to see if I received the desired effect.

None of this happened with HW because they introduced one class for each role, so there was plenty of tanks and healers running shit as they leveled up the new tank and healing job.

Adding in two DPS jobs in a game already bloated with DPS jobs compared to the other two roles was a mistake.

Every interaction with her comes down to her telling you that you're the hope for the land and can stop the darkness from taking over, and if you listen to all her songs it reveals different aspects of her character. Answers reveals that she knows of the plight of the people in the world and their suffering, but she cannot help them, because life has suffering, and they must learn to deal with it. Dragonsong goes into length about her not understanding why the Ishgardians and the dragons keep fighting and killing each other and why people betray each other so much and throw their lives away for faith or some pointless goals. And Revolutions seems to be clearly her going "Okay, go to war, fight for your home and freedom, but keep in mind that the other side is doing the same, and war always comes with a steep price"

Tanking has been fun as hell for me as a paladin, good damage and fuck did it feel good to use passage of arm on shinryuu to help the healers have a better time. Generally used it during hellfire since everyone was already grouped up.

No, but it's better in almost any way (expect the clunky combat maybe).
Class balance is good, classes are fun, and the game doesn't feel outdated as fuck. it's very refreshing, or at least that's the impression that XIV gave to me the first time I played. I switched from WoW to XIV in an instant, even played Legion at launch for 1 month to escape back on XIV. Sure it has flaws but not as many as fucking WoW. Give it a try.
The most fun healing class is probably the Astrologian, but you wont get it until Heavensward (level 50). I like Scholar personally.

This is exactly what it is. I'm shocked that more people don't realize this. The whole reason things are able to exist at all is that the two are held in balance. If you have too much darkness, your world gets swallowed up in Darkness and becomes the Void. Too much light, your world gets swallowed up by Light and becomes whatever the opposite of the Void is (they haven't revealed that yet I don't think)

There is literally no resources online for PvP, nothing say why I should play a PLD over a DRK, or how to specifically get the most out of DRK in a mass war situation (like a big Shatter crystal), or how an alliance should tackle those big skirmishes, hence people just wandering around not understanding how to play in DF and why it's such a cancerous experience.

Also, there is none, NO incentive to do well in PvP, you might level up and get a few more Wolf Marks..but so what? Is there a BiS PvP culture I'm missing where a BiS PvP WAR will solo small Shatter Crystals or something? You don't even get more Verity Tomes for winning then you do for losing, hence I didn't throw any games I got while farming Tomes but I sure as shit didn't care if I lost.

I personally think the end scenario is destroying Zodiark by bringing him and Hydaelyn together as one, so the power of darkness and light are a single entity and can remain in balance forever. Hydaelyn, after all, calls herself "The all made one", so for her to be the whole of balance would fit.

Exactly. She wants to snuff out the darkness, just as much as Zodiark wants to snuff out the light. They're diametrically opposed to each other. The only way to keep them BOTH in check is to have them at equal or near-equal strength. That's what the WoL and Ascians are there for.
