Why isn't anyone making full games for the VR equipment that's been out for years now like Cardboard and Gear?
VR is for porn and that's it

Movement is still a huge problem. As much as people try and use jumping around with the control stick as a technique, it doesn't play well. The only real games you could make are things where your character stands still, and there are a few of those, though not many good ones.
if Ace Combat 7's VR is shit I will call that it is fully dead
>>381272337
Yes, but why?
>>381272243
Because VR is shit.
>>381273550
Can't you just have the character always moving forward and then the player just turns their head to change directions?

I've tried a few different prototypes becauseI was involved with a tech company trying things outand I can safely say that's the most motion-sickness-inducing way of doing things, unless you're in a specific situation.
Something like hanging out the side of a car driven by someone else and shooting at things could be done, or like on a roller coaster or something, but for general walking around it's not great.
>>381272243
Because they fucking didn't sell enough of these devices and the law authorizes them to fuck you.
>>381275301
Because using vr for more time than it takes to jerk off is retarded
VR is for flight and racing sims, the rest is casual meme garbage.
>>381272243
Because it's literally shit. VR headsets are awful. Cardboard and Gear is even worse.
I don't want to sound like a fanboy, but I think the big problem is that there's no "standard", as in devs have no fucking idea on how to exploit what they have, and the peripherals are still rather limited. All you see are stupid mini games and "simulators" that are fun for 20 minutes and then they're just boring crap.
Back in the 80's with the famicom, Nintendo raised the quality standard by miles after the Atari/Intelevision/Amiga and the other home consoles had been pouring very rudimentary titles. And this kept happening with every one of their iterations and introduction to new genres. At least from the 2d platformer to the 3d platformer Nintendo led the standard strongly. Pc gaming had it's own set of titles, the point and click adventures, the early fps, simulators and some interesting hardcore titles like PoP, but ultimately they had very limited access until 95.
Until 1 studio delivers a REALLY high quality title that everyone wants, we'll start seeing more devs copying their solutions to the problems we don't even know how to make. While the entire setup for a VR experience is not only pricey, but inaccessible, as it requires a roomy area, and a device strong enough to power up the whole thing.
I feel only Nintendo and Sega have enough freedom to create a title that exploits whatever we have available right now, and dares not only to break the standard mold for the current videogame experience, but actually commit to an ideal and design strong elements that others will imitate and recognize as a proper paradigm to standardize the VR games that we haven't even seen yet.

Farpoint for PSVR does that in the default settings
>>381272243
Pay fucking attention, the games are out. The hell do you want, halo VR?
Would you even buy a big name VR game?, or would you just bitch it's VR only and demand non-vr support needs to be given? For example, it is impossible to create a normal star trek bridge crew game. (Sadly the games content was short and already falling off popularity for VR users....)
i want vr gta5 fpv
>>381272243
I want a "The World" from .Hack.

>The hell do you want
Real games, not shallow tech demos. A platformer like the mario bros games, maybe fighting games like mortal kombat or soul calibur, RPGs, adventure games with depth like ocarina of time, etc. Actual games.

>A platformer like the mario bros games
Sayonara Umihara Kawase. Cannot get better than that as a real platform game.
>>fps
(not mentioned but anyways). The Serious Sam VR games. Cannot get better than that as a real shooter.
