He's right, though. The 360 almost has 2000 games, ran most multiplats better than PS3, had better online than psn and Wii, had a decent price, had some of the biggest titles, etc. 360 was the best way to game during the 7th gen.
The only consoles that beat it are the SNES, Genesis, and PS2.

The story has references to both but stands on it's own as a separate thing.
The combat is SMT, the leveling system is inspired by Fire Emblems (You switch weapons and level them up for skills for your character's loadouts, like in FE where you're changing classes while leveling up your units for a combo of the different classes passives and I believe RNG level ups/the stats from FE)

At the beginning of the generation, 360 looked to be the stronger console. Mistwalker backed it, immediately got a Tales game, and almost became the weeb console of the generation. PS3 didn't have shit for games until halfway through it's lifecycle. Shit like Ni no Kuni, Demon's Souls, and niche RPG shit is what even made it a competition.
Then, it sort of evened out after that with PS3 having the better exclusives overall. Except for Lost Odyssey. That's the outlier.
Weeb games make the console, it seems.

The one game I actually have a budget rerelease copy of is The Simpsons Hit and Run on the Gamecube, and that's only because I tried buying three different copies on ebay and every single one was a Player's Choice even though they had the original box art pictured. Also I guess Pikmin 2 on the Wii but that was never released as anything but the "budget rerelease" version in the US so it doesn't really count.
