What are some good RPGs where I get to make my own party?

Generally it's better to use the pre-generated party members since they have actual quests associated with them.

I'll say Icewind Dale since it gets around this "problem" by not having any pre-generated party members.

Etrian Odyssey is mostly lolis for the female designs, which is fine but fairly boring after a while. But the male designs tend to be pretty good.

I haven't, but Final Fantasy Legend III/SaGa 3 you cannot choose who is in your party, but you can choose to transform them all so I didn't really bring it up due to that.
