This update is great and the shitters crying about nerfs aren't looking at it objectively.

Literally all it means is that they are just as an easy target as they were before, so you can use your new Pocket Pistol to get health back and damage them, or throw two cleavers at them for an easy kill (Long range reduces cooldown by 1.5 seconds which is pretty much the whole thing)

The only change I'd be against is Bonk getting the downside since pushing past sentries, etc (what it's actually useful for) is already difficult. One balancing feature to that would be to make him immune to knockback a la Quick Fix uber.

Using DR also gets rid of normal cloaking and if you're getting backstabbed by a Spy who can't manually cloak and makes a loud noise when uncloaking with DR then you're terrible at the game.

Like I said, retard filter class. Spy is worthless against anyone with a hint of awareness, but most pub players never bother turning around or reacting to load uncloak noises, so they think Spies are overpowered.

I haven't played the game in a while, but the default loadout hasn't been touched so it's still as strong as before, the FaN is still a fun gimmick, and there's still no reason not to equip the atomizer (but they should have nerfed the liberty launcher or whichever Soldier weapon it is that evened out the triple jump). The Sandman was aids and I'm glad it's gone.

The Bonk changes are questionable since 65% speed reduction just means you'll be picked off right after you go through the chokepoint

The problem with most of the weapons is that they're too situational, overpowered or underpowered for that specific situation, and/or just plain boring to use. Accuracy and damage penalties now reset when the Heavy spins down, rather than when the Heavy stops firing. This means if you stay spun-up beyond one second, and fire in bursts, damage and accuracy will remain at 100%.

Sure why not. If you are a Pyro you can airblast the spy as he dies limiting his movement. You can also puff with fire in between to damage. You also generally know that the spy will likely go to places with few people and health/ammo, and spies can be easily cornered becaude of thise locations. The only thing this now does is if a spy somehow gets away from your retard team, he's just going to wait in some abandoned area until he can dr again. Not really fun for anyone.

Scout is already one of the strongest classes in the game and with atomizer he's nearly unkillable, 10 health is always going to be better than eating a 100 damage rocket/grenade.
Sniper always has teammates around protecting and overhealing him so razorback made it impossible for spies to kill him without dying in the process.
Eviction notice change is actually a buff, current eviction notice lowers your effective health by 20%. 60 health at 300 and 90 health at 450. Eviction notice now takes 12-18 seconds to reduce your health by the same amount.

See, that breaks down when you forget to mention he can't be set on fire for a few seconds and can just run away at mach 5, also saying nothing of the possibility he further could pack a spy-cicle to extend his afterburn immunity to practically his entire cloak duration. Even if you get an airblast off after his fake death, he'll just land and run away, something that's pretty easy to do now that airblast victims can airstrafe and good luck guessing which way an invisible Spy moved without flicker or afterburn.

Even if you know where he's going (quite clearly the nearest ammo), he's going to reach it before you (speed boost + faster base move speed) and if it's a full ammo crate, he can do this all over again. Regardless, even if I actually catch, trap, and kill him, the increased time it took to finish him because of this durability took much more effort than any other Spy watch, netting his team the benefit of fighting one less guy.

It deserves to be hit this hard and now the Spy must wait for the recharge time, leaving him actually vulnerable for a period of time like the other watches.

If your sentry is getting peppered and you can't risk teleporting it, you shoot it for some healing. If it's taking too much sustained damage and you can get out, you teleport and relocate. Rather than making the Engineer a solo wall, it's encouraging team play and defence of his buildings, which does arguably make things harder in pubs but you should just run combat support texan there anyways.

70% * 150% only amounts to 105% damage, boyo. Dealing 5% more damage on your first shot is a pathetic damage bonus.
To put that into perspective, the Scattergun has damage rampup that allows it to reach 175% of its base damage at point blank range.
Shotguns and all other weapons can only reach 150% damage rampup.
This thing is going to be worse than the Scattergun for panicked fighting, it's going to be worse for prolonged fights due to your spread getting even wider.
They made it worse, somehow, by getting rid of the gimmick playstyle that kinda works on Pyro and Engineer.

If they wanted to stop this from being used as a Medic pickoff wep, why didn't they just reduce the explosion damage to 125 or so, and make it so it cannot crit ever? That way it would still be used for its sniper trolling purpose but it cannot be used to kill a med even if the demo has the shield charge

Is it just me or are all of these changes really arbitrary, half-assed "fixes" to community's general complaints about the state of the game? The problem is there's too many weird gimmicky weapons that are either too good in any situation (escape plan, uber saw, etc.), completely worthless (sun on a stick, fan o war, kunai, etc.), or some weird middle-ground that is hard to balance and annoying to play against (natascha, sandman, etc.). All they can do is continue to weirdly nerf or buff these things every now and then to keep things interesting.

that is, when vs a soldier, demo, pyro, scout, if a spy hits both his shots, he wins, or at least secures the kill whilst dying himself. this barely ever happens, but still cannot be allowed to be possible

a support class vs a combat class, it's on the combat class to win, not the support. if the combat class fucks up, the support can win, but cannot be allowed to have a 100% chance of getting the kill in a head on fight even if the combat class hits all of their shots. it fucks everything up

also sniping with it was just far too obnoxious. cloaking on to the badwater roof and killing people coming out of spawn was not hard and could only be countered with a heavy investment of your own time, especially so if they also had the DR
