It's functionally Volition's first game since their potboiler Saints Row projects while they were surviving the transition from THQ's bankruptcy into a Deep Silver subsidiary.
A lot of the humor feels like it's trying too hard.
From everything I've seen of it - it looks pretty forgettable. Might turn up in hidden gems threads a few months down the line (or in 'Oh yeah. That came out' threads) but I'll be surprised if frequent discussion lasts more than a week after release.
Saints Row IV was genuinely the funniest game I have ever played. I haven't seen any footage of Agents of Mayhem yet, though. But if it's like SRIV, I'll like it.

It leans closer to SR3 but all the playable characters have over-the-top abilities and better mobility.
