I have a feeling that the plot of this game is going to be REALLY fucking bad. Like obnoxiously bad. Especially considering they're putting more of a focus on it and trying to make it more "serious". Previous games worked because they were over-the-top violent romps, the story was there to entertain you and make up excuses for the setpieces. The few times they tried to be serious (ie Pandora) they fell flat. This entire game is going to fall flat.

The long cutscenes focusing on Greek mythology, Kratos screaming at people, the action setpieces, the story, the QTEs. No it wasn't, the reason to play a GoW was for the over the top action and brutality, cutscenes could be watched or skipped, never did they get in the way of the gameplay, now it's a slow paced, walk sections where exposition happens and you can't skip it because technically you are playing during it, low level one button masher, where your weapon has a magnet that pulls you to the nearest enemy, no effort required.

Focusing on storytelling, no, just because they put effort into the story does not mean it focused on storytelling, you could skip all cutscenes and the story never got in the way of the gameplay, you are either dishonest of ignorant.
The reason the camera was far back was because it was the only way to properly do all the platforming, movement and enemies you have to fight all at once and the scale of the game.
The fact that the camera is behind the player now means that you will fight less enemies, Kratos movement has been reduced, you will no longer be surrounded needing to react from attacks from all sides, platforming will be reduced to a simpler smaller scale movement probably no different than similar games currently out, you know what I'm talking about.
