Eh, depends really. I was mainly looking to pick up Binding of Isaac Rebirth, to which it just got a sale where it was at 5 bucks. So I've already got that, don't know what else to look forward to. I'll have to see what the deals are like, but considering the last two years' sales I doubt it will be anything special.

You have no excuse given the discounts.

They've gotten rid of the daily deals and shit where you could wait for a better deal by coming back to the store each day. So now, if you see something you want you just buy it or don't. That's it. The whole process is much less interesting and doesn't produce the same excitement that comes from hoping that one game you want comes up on a flash sale.

So yeah, I'll check to see what the sales are (to which they're often just small discounts) during the first day then move on. I used to get super excited for these sales but now I just check what's there and that's it. It's a bummer.

It's a Steam sale all year round thanks to CD key sites and resellers. I'm all for more consumer protection with the refund system but the sales have just been shit since they came into effect

In the past, we'd get flash and daily sales that were 75%-95% off. But since even those were shitty 10%-33% off bullshit, I'd rather just be able to buy everything the first day and be done with it.

When you give some up, prioritize a list of like 10-15 games you absolutely need to play, get them ready and play them in alphabetical order or an order of your choosing. Stop playing WoW or whatever multiplayer games you play with your friends and get to fucking work. You'll never get through them without this kind of structure, you'll probably just sit there without playing anything if you don't do this. Don't try to mix and match them either, or else you'll get part way through a few and then get back to the whole "which one should I play?!" problem. Stick to the structure.

Here's what worked for me:

1) Sort every game in categories depending on their play time. 1-5h, 5-10h, 10-20h, 20h+. You can completely finish 20-30 shorter games by the time you completely finish for example, Witcher 3

2) Filter the list in every category, increasingly with the playtime. You will NEVER complete every single game on your list, so focus on the quality. You can always come back to the dropped games if you are bored.

3) DROP MULTIPLAYER GAMES as much as you can (MOBAs, Overwatch, Diablo/PoE, WoW etc.) They take up a ridiculous amount of time, and you will never complete them, since they don't have an end. Play just a few matches instead.

4) Start working on shorter games, and gradually move up. You can start playing a really long game simultaniously, just to make progress on it, and keep your game time varied.


You will rapidly make progress, trust me.

Sometimes a game is just fun for a limited amount of hours and the game isn't finished before it getting boring thus not worth your time to finish.

Don't force yourself to complete a game when it isn't fun to play anymore because that's work not playing. Just play to have fun. NOT to waste time or to "finish it". Because you might as well pick up learning a skill or two instead.

I realized this when I started learning Japanese 7 years ago. I also picked up electronics engineering as a hobby and only play games when I think they are great and want to have fun. The moment a games begins to bore me is the moment I drop the game never to be picked up again.
