Turns out that Riddle reduces you based on your current GCD and so rather than removing GL3 it works out to a -5% speed decrease. It also lets you unironically double weave all your OGCDs except Forbidden Chakra during the duration because of animation changes.

Furthermore, Brotherhood may be terrible for us because of the lack of getting the 5% buff ourselves, but in an 8 man you're basically guaranteed two FC during each one with riddle up for both.

May as well try it. It likely will be toned down in an upcoming patch but avoiding it on the off chance it gets ruined seems a bit paranoid. Once you have it at 50 you'll definitely have a really good feel for how the kit works so it shouldn't be a huge investment to get it there too.

It depends on procs. When you get to 65/65 ish you need to start planning out your next ~5 gcd's and aim for 80/85ish or 85ish/80. Remember that you can hold fire/stone procs for like 40 seconds as long as you don't press the aero/thunder that gives the proc you are holding.

Half the game is single player, you'll have to play thorough the base game and HW expansion before you even get to the current content so playing solo is actually fine. Dungeons and stuff are all done through a queue so you don't have to worry about finding people and old story content is constantly ran since max level players have a queue for it that gives them a bonus.

Just finished Susano NM as PLD. Did they raise the damage that you take as MT during boss fights? I'm full i270 and it seemed like you needed a heal after each auto attacks. Also that full party AOE seemed to be giving the healers a hard time. I get the feeling I was just running with shitty healers, so does anyone know if they made bosses hit harder this expansion?

Hey /v/, we had a rocky start to the EA but things are starting to pick up now. I've been experiencing SB slowly but I gotta say it's great, and as I sit int he DPS queue for Susano I just wanted to share a story with you guys, really selfishly just to help me.

Me and my brother started out FFXIV playing in the beta for 2.0. we went through everything together and it was our game. We were all hyped and ready for SB to hit we had both preordered it and everything. He was gonna play SAM and I was gonna play RDM and we'd suffer through the DPS queues together.

Unfortunately in March I lost my brother quickly and unexpectedly. I had mixed feelings about returning to FFXIV as it really seemed like it wouldn't be the same. As time passed I felt though that it'd be best if I did. I felt I could honor him the only way I knew how. So I started in EA and am going through SB as a Samurai, doing for him what he can't. I have to say, the expansion is amazing so far and aside from the instance hiccups I haven't been disappointed. Samurai is good fun and I feel like somehow we're kind of going through it together still.

I'm not looking for pity or anything, but I felt like sharing our story would help me with my own healing process, and I hope you all are enjoying the expansion as well.

WHM is definitely a lot better than expected. Lilies and confession can be tweaked in a future minor patch and really help solidify the WHM position but even now I'm very happy. Really good damage output relative to other healers and no MP issues either.

The lilies only reduce the recast time on things like Asylum, Assize, Divine Benis, or Tetra. So if you have 3 lilies then cast Assize, you'll lose all the lilies but Assize will only have a recast time of 40 seconds. The other abilities, if on cooldown, won't be affected.
