I killed him by mistake the day the game came out by having batshit crazy parents that forced me to turn off anything using electricity when I left a room. I literally killed him by eating dinner. My friend and I had a good laugh about it when we turned the game back on afterwards. We did beat the Fear without ever finding the thermal goggles though.

Anyone who claims this is a good bossfight is deluded, really. Any "difficulty" it has relies on the fact this old fart runs faster than snake somehow and snake can't shoot up/down un uneven terrain without aiming down sights. Both of which ruin immersion completely. Pulling the darts is just additional busywork.
