>get a new 3ds and transfer the data without backing up my saves

FUCK IT. Can I just go straight to Ace Attorney 2? I know I could watch a Let's Play of the rest of the game but somehow it seems like being halfway through the fourth out of fifth case is somehow only 60% through Ace Attorney (my go-to let's play channel has the part I am at being Part 50 out of a 90 part series).

I just want to move on, can I just jump to Justice for All?

Yes but at least read a summary of the story. The 3DS versions changed a few things to fit with Rise from the Ashes.
