Anyone else remember this hidden gem?

Hell yes.
Sequel was far better.

There's a sequel?Is it called Area 52?
>>381166459
We literally have a thread saying "Who remembers Area-51?" every day.
Yes, everyone remembers it and it was a fucking good game. So stop making it already.

I know you're lying, but there's no way to prove you wrong.
remember when the air force released it as freeware

I am not lying, you can trust me, it's the internet.
I've seen this thread with the same picture almost every day this week. It's clear we remember this game, it's a hidden gem to the common person, but to /v/ users it's common knowledge.

>sequel
Are you for real?
>gem
I'd say it is for the first few levels but it falls off past THAT point, you know the one. It's a shame because I remember previews painting it almost as some kind of survival horror, that scanner being a way to track infection progress for squadmates. It makes enough sense that I'm inclined to believe that was the original vision and things took a turn somewhere in development

Since everybody either didn't play it or is underage now,
did the prisonbreak game EA announced also made you laugh for how much the MC looked like a shitty Sims recreation of Torque?
I like the Suffering. Took a while to get used to the shitty controls, but i like how much dedication they had to make a GAME instead of a cinematic horror experience. Secrets, wacky weapons, enemyvariety, bosses, the whole shebang. Along the way the game went off da rails for a bit but i can't say that i didn't really enjoy those parts. Trying to keep the mexican prisonguard alive with the firewitches was neat. Picking up phones and showering were great details.

>tfw dual wielding shotguns and using alternative fire button for both at the same time

>It took eight months to get one thing working," he notes. "With a year to go, the game was disastrously off rails." It even "went straight from alpha to final". Eek. And there was virtually no time to spend play-testing the game.
Blacksite was junk. So much so that one of the guys in charge just shat all over it.Come to think of it, most of the 2006 onward games Midway put out were pretty shitty. What was the best one, Stranglehold?

I tried playing this a while back but the FOV is locked so atrociously low that I nearly vomited
>>381169907
Aparently one developer made a fix about a year ago.
Honestly don't know how anyone could stomach this in the original state, even by console standards. 110 Quakefov, while too high for pros, is my absolute minimum for first person shooters.
