Because they think that is what will get people to buy them? Although next to nobody even has a 4k monitor/television.

they're using every technique to push 4k on select games
graphics downgrade, severe draw distance reduction and checkboarding

I suspect they run into problems trying to push calculations past 30hz on 1080p
something about CPU problems

Yes and no. I think consoles need to push better textures/detail first. PC can barely handle 4k with ultra textures in many games.and of course every exclusive should target 60fps first. Pursuing fps on a multiplat on console is stupid though.

But 4k is much better than any AA method and js great for sitting close to a large monitor.

I never tried a 4k device, but i usually play with dsr 4x. It looks fucking amazing
