Rate my Satsuma republic campaign for FotS that I finished earlier today
9 territories lost were because I was too spread out during realm divide and had to fall back to Honshu as my former allies held the other half of Chūgoku

The cannons were so fucking satisfying in fots, they should have limited them more though because the game was pretty much over as soon as you got parrot guns

It's a good game but there are some parts that are insanely frustrating. The ai spamming high level agents late game is beyond ridiculous, as is the single ship stack spam in FotS bombarding absolutely everything in sight not caring that they will be wiped out by your fleets in your turn.

The army spam late game is also silly when the ai can't make competent armies and half of each stack are levies so they instead throw three or more against your one making each battle a grind that takes eons to complete.

Late game total war has never been good. Worst contender is Attila late game on legendary. You get like 10 full stack invasions at some point. Shit just isn't fun anymore at that point.
