Sega has more money and industry clout now than they have since the genesis/megadrive golden years. They 100% could re-enter the console business and have a serious shot at major success. Especially if they focused on the pure fun arcade style games of their roots. They're one of the biggest publishers in the world, if all their games went exclusive they would dominate on the exclusive front.

I would be stoked if they tried it as I loved every console they ever released. With that said there is less than a 1% chance of this ever happening. They are making bank as a software focused company and they won't rock the boat.
