The industry was finally warming up to proper gyro controls and having a better aiming solution than fucking shit tier analog sticks on consoles.

Then this fucking game came out and it's like the entire industry's opinion on movement in the controller has reverted to REEEEEEE WII WAGGLAN in response to anything, even tilting the controller for precision movements.
I hope you're happy, Switchfags. Your shitty wii boxing sequel, on top of being a bad video game, has actually been harmful to the progression of new ideas in the industry.

It's because motion controls that work the camera can detect more subtle movements than an analog stick and doesn't have an analog sticks speed cap.

The thing that ruined it for me is the motion for punching is snappy, you punch forward. But in addition to that not being as responsive as a button press, you're twisting at the same time but the response of your arms to the twist lasts a ridiculous amount of time.

Instead of being something like Wii Bowling, where putting a twist on something changes the trajectory drastically and immediately, it's a really fast movement forward to trigger it... and then a really slow response to manipulate it, for what's basically the same action.

Along with having to tilt to move on top of all that. It just felt awful to me.

I've never played the games before and don't even have a wii-u. But i'm kinda down with this new aesthetic Nintendo does aside from the usual nintendo crew. Both Arms and Splatoon have wacky aesthetic that i really had to get used to at first, but now i really dig the mix of kiddy silly with nods to cool hip pop/streetculture shit.
Ever since the wii i always felt most nintendo games lost the touch and character they had in the n64 era. Everything was made bubbly and shiny to an extent where it felt a bit TOO infantile even for kids. Mariokart doubledash was the first game that it bothered me. Voiceacting and sounddesign played a huge part in this. Then you had stuff like strikers wich was a bit too much to the edgy line (apart from the non-main chars like peach mario etc, drybones shyguy and toad really shined in those games)
Nintendo always was the kiddie one but used to have more gusto to them, glad they tap back into that now a bit.
