Here are all of the Fighter's Guild quests

The only role-playing that happens in any of them is in the last four quests where you either help the fighter's guild members who work for the Morag Tong by killing off two of the thieves guild leaders, or killing off the two corrupt fighter's guild members.
There's like 30 fighter's guild quests, and only four of them actually involve role-playing. Even then, it's a braindead good or evil choice with no moral complexity. The act of joining the guild itself isn't even really role-playing either, since its just the obvious choice for any character that's built to be a melee fighter.

You can't just kill every enemy in a area and look around, they randomly repopulate.

You actually are forced to search the areas for secrets to get the opportunity to upgrade weapons, and it even visually changes your weapon each time.

Did you even read my post? Gear and skills are only a small part of what can define a character in role-playing. It doesn't matter how your fighter is built in Morrowind because he's going to do the exact same goddamn quests in roughly the exact same way every time. You've never played and you're simply being a faggot contrarian. Had you actually played the game, you'd realize it actually give you far more options and choices than in boreowind. The only dialogue options you have is this wikipedia style system where every NPC gives you the exact same response. virtually none of the quests you do actually have any effect to the game world. At least in New vegas completing quests will sometimes spawn some new npcs and objects. There are multiple quests that have different endings, some of which will effect the final battle of hoover dam or at least from a roleplay stand point assist your faction of choice.

Most of the games in this thread are kinda bad (especially Vtmb) but I'm glad I played them through and that's mostly because /v/ recommended them.

I've learned that /v/ likes the kinda games which are clunky and riddled with bad design choices, I can appreciate rooting for the underdog though.

Well if you care about the story and narrative, it is meaningful. Also your choice in faction determines which of the main factions will be your enemies, also you gain access to the safehouses, the legion will leaves boxes of money and equipment for you if you aid them, the NCR gives you a radio that calls rangers in to assist you. Depending on who you assist and what quests and choices you make can determine which companions will stay with you, some will even turn hostile against you. That lucky old sun quest, you can get a somewhat powerful weapon (should have been more powerful) from it also the legion will take over the facility if you activate the defense system. If you fix the howitzer at the fort it will be used in the final battle. If you butcher the NCR troopers at camp Mccaren, Cazadores will infest the camp, if you complete the prostitute quest you can sleep with said hookers, although I don't know why you'd want to but you can regardless. There's lots of changes to the world in game depending on your actions. It affects more than what I've seen in morrowind, especially when you can just throw shekels at NPC's of opposing factions which makes the whole reputation system in morrowind pointless.

Ehh, the combat was always thrash and it's not like the community can't add some new textures to polish it a bit when the time comes. But the design, athmosphere and lightning of the locations, plus the character models and facial expressions still hold up great.

In Morrowind I could roleplay as a warrior who's too fucking strong to pick a lock, but had somehow aquired the necessary skill to open any lock.
Skyrim doesn't let me do that.
Also, the fact that most quests rely on you to read in game books and to figure shit out on your own has made it more rewarding, to me at least, than Skyrim.

Plus the expansions were awesome.

It's nice having the books around, but I felt like Morrowind relied on books too much to explain things and made the actual game world feel really bland as a result.
Instead of having a bunch of quests about nothing, the fighter's guild quests could've been an actual quest chain that builds up to the Morag Tong stuff and tells the player about the guild, its members, and their values in the process.
You could establish that the fighter's guild is falling on hard times due to a lack of legitimate jobs, and have a few quests where other members of the guild try to cheat the player out of a bounty or kill him off to get rid of their competition. Maybe force the player to make moral choices about which jobs they'll accept.
All this could foreshadow the Morag Tong subplot and establish why the Morag Tong is so influential in the fighter's guild to begin with, and make the traitorous guild members more sympathetic.
I just want anything other than another "go kill the guy" quest.

Going in I was completely expecting it to be obtuse, it's quite an old game now, but good fucking god was it rancid.
I thought I was ready for the diceroll combat but I seriously wasn't, and Jesus fucking Christ do you move slow as shit too. A shame too, everything else Morrowind does is fantastic, too bad the gameplay's aged like milk.
