Arbalest is fantastic for Pig God since she's the only one who can clear marks. She's also great for the Cannon.

She's not as useful for non boss runs because her damage comes from marking, which is generally less than ideal than just facerolling mobs as she's slow. Bounty Hunter is better for marking parties in non boss runs,

Most of the time it's the latter
But everything aside, the idea behind the game is pretty solid. Mechanically wise it's complex, the soundtrack and the artstyle is great, has an amazing narrator that makes the atmosphere even better. The only problem is that it's RNG based and while the game is about being able to manage RNG, learning how will take some time and can be quite frustrating at times. You'll learn a lot of things the hard way and i was able to finish the game only on my 5th playthrough.

It's a game that expects you to do tactics and be efficient, while adding a fair amount of rng to spice things up and punish you for beinf overconfident or not knowing things. It has a ton of options and modes to make the game easier if you're too much of a shitter too (I admit to disabling the rng chance on escaping battles).

an example, in the pic related you can see Barkentin taking the Bark into his entire HP pool. What i should have done in this case is to protect him with a character with high dodge or protection (dmg reduction). I got cocky and skipped guarding him and the game punished me immediately for my poor decision. This was the first and the last time i got hit for 60dmg (which is FUCKTON)

Personally I won on my 2nd playthought (bothced my first) and my main strategy was to disable some enemies while hitting the others as hard as possible (ideally killing 2 enemies and stunning the other 2 on the first turn), slightly prolonging battles when only 1/2 enemies are left to heal or reduce stress before battle ends too.

Flaggellant seems to be a hybrid of tank and dps. His main attacks deal a lot of bleeding and he has an ability to transfer debuffs from allies on to him as well as heal with attacks if he reaches less than half his health.
What's really cool is how he handles being at death's door. I only had it once so I don't know exactly what happens, but he has an increased chance to survive every attack in that state, and the debuff goes away if some condition is met. I'm not sure if it was a healing ability that triggered it to go away or what, but it does happen.

well what i do in Weald is that i bring MaA and i guard once, then stun the giant next turn, then guard again, then stun... Get Treebranch once in every two turns and even a crit hits for a lowly 12dmg. Rampart Shield is great for Weald

Either you're completely ignoring the skill modifiers that the other classes do get, or are talking about let it bleed which has amazing dmg over time but is barely useful on regular fights since it's a dot and only hits first slot. Plus you stack -dmg on every other action unless you have a huge stock of medicinal herbs.
Also hellion hp is garbage, so putting it on first slot is generally a bad idea, but that's the only slot where it "works".

It's probably the best example of what i'm autistic enough to call TINY TIMESINKS. I can run one dungeon every time I have half an hour or so to kill. I've been playing it for maybe six months now, just picking it up whenever I have enough free time to do something but not enough to settle down and play an actual game.

Gives me the same kind of vibe I always got from roguelikes, play a floor and then do something else for a day or two. It's neat, I recommend the game to anyone that's looking for something they can consume in bite sized portions.
