It's okay, very good for a visual novel at least.

The prose is fucking horrible though and makes it a chore to get through considering it's so long

It's one of the best VNs out there, so yes it's worth reading through it, just skip the cringeworthy sex scenes with le ebin fish metaphors and the bits where the game explains to you what' going on for the 15th time.
