All this recent talk about the new Monster Hunter made me remember that I still need to play it. It's been on my backlog for so fucking long now.
I bought Freedom Unite years ago on PSN for my Vita but never played it longer than 5 minutes after Character creation.
Where do I start? What should I know?

Thanks but what should I know mate?
Why don't you go in blind?
Play FU, 3U, and 4U. Generations too if you want, but make that decision after you've played the others.

Try out every weapon before really digging into the game. Test out all the controls so you can get a feel on how YOU move. Find out what weapon(s) you like and stick to that. Don't be afraid to look up guides, there's some advanced tricks that you may not find out until you watch a guide for that weapon. Not just weapon guides though, learning the monster weaknesses, where certain items are in maps, etc can be vital to the gameplay. Try to find out what armor skills go best with weapons by reading about the skills online. Once you've gotten into the game enough, learn monster tells. Good luck hunting my friend.
