The first four episodes are fucking phenomenal, every choice DOES matter, which blows Telltale out of the ocean with their shills on "player choice".
That is until the final episode which the devs thought it was a great idea to make everything you've worked for redundant, and thus pointless.
Unless you consider the ending as "fan-fiction", the game is definitely awesome and a keeper, even if it's got cringy dialogue at (all) times.

HA! You just suck as stealth. I've watched the game played maybe 200 times on twitch. And from my observation, the stealth section was very divisive. Either the player had no clue what to do, and it was a super annoying experience. Or the player was confident, and breezed through. You just suck at it. It's a very short and simple segment for everyone else.

As a viewer, it's kind of a lose-lose situation. Because either the player gets frustrated, making the stream un-fun, and then they bitch about it after the ending. or, they go through so fast, they miss a lot of the funny dialog.

Also, incidentally, most of the people who struggled through that part were women. Take that how you will. Not only for the lacking ability with stealth, but they also freak out more from the atmosphere. I guess all it takes to scare ladies, is some dim light and stealth mechanics.

A couple girls in particular had full on break downs, because they were too stupid and too afraid to find the path. Almost not completing the game.

The game is obviously made to appeal to the kind of adolescent girl crowd that a good portion of /v/ hates, but at the same time it's a smarter game than you would first be led to believe by looking at its cover or random screenshots of the girls. It's not really preachy nor does it have any sort of overbearing social message behind it. Unless you count "don't drug and kidnap young girls" as a controversial social topic.

That said, the final confrontation with imaginary Max during the time crash really falls terribly flat on its face as an attempt at calling the player out for its alleged selfishness. The entire episode with you trying to save Kate handles everything it tried to handle in a far more tasteful and impactful manner.
