Technically that makes the camera even shittier though, since you actually need to adjust the vertical on the fly due to terrain and different heights you+monsters can be on. Like being in 3U's water but all the time, in terms of camera control requirements. Previously on land you could just leave the camera at the +1 height preset and only worry about horizontal adjustment.

Honestly the worst thing about the camera isn't having to adjust it, but the fact that even with the CPP or n3wDS c-clit it still only adjusts as though being manipulated by a dpad, and doesn't allow for diagonal adjustment even then. A glaring missed opportunity in 3U and to neglect it again in 4U and AGAIN in Generations is just poor design; even for people using the touchscreen dpad or the actual physical one it's not like they can't take diagonal inputs (or be properly made in order to, in the case of the touchscreen one).

I purchased this game on 3DS and it's boring as fuck.

After playing Generations, seeing XX, seeing World and now starting a new character in 4U, I can say, it's definitely the best.
(Maybe 3U? Ah no, mounting and palicoes are just too good)

Nah, 4U was really good with some like Kecha Wacha but 3rd gen overall is better as it brought us gems like Barroth, Barioth, Lagiacrus, Duramboros, Zinogre, Brachydios, Deviljho, Uragaan and Agnaktor. Honestly 3rd gen is just that good.
3U also had the jaggis and baggis which 4U removed for the sake of getting the fucking shitty dromes back in. Same thing with Gigginox and Khezu.

I liked 4U just a little bit more because it was the first time the series really deviated away from purely Draconic/Dinosaur type monsters. I might be a little biased though, because Zamtrios is easily one of my favorite monsters in vidya period. I just really love landsharks and seeing his balloon form in action left me rolling.

Is the online still alive?

I've just started playing Generations and will transfer my save to Double Cross once I'm done with the story/HR. So far it's alright, I rarely use the hunter arts since it kinda takes away my attention from the top screen to the lower one to activate them. Can't have that when there's some intense hunting going on.

The new monsters were pretty much all good but I fucking hated the endgame. Guild quests and rng loot drops just killed it for me. Not to mention the cancer that is hyper monsters and wystones. You literally get about 15 seconds to hit the monster without bouncing off and its just not fun. Before anyone says "lol git gud" I beat every single quest in the game solo and I have over 500 hours. I still despise hyper monsters.
