What sucks is that only the final game in the series was localized. People who play it don't understand the plot tie-ins, characters or locations and think the game just throws new characters and events at you from nowhere when there is a precedent set for those events and characters from back to the DS game.
People are mad that Allie turned out to be ND with no build up? No. The Broodmother ND, final superboss of the overrun Dragonsbane labyrinth promises to return one day in a new form. Lo and behold, ND stands for Nodens as the Broodmother finds a way to return to the past and perform her purpose without the interference of Preloma's adventurers.
The player never being given a reason to care about Emel and Aitelle despite their plot importance? They were there from the start, in the fully functional city of Pleroma.
Emel was the ruler and Aitelle had an entire plot point devoted to her love being lost to the Dragonsbane choking out all life on the planet.
I hate people who started on the third one and say the story was shit.

I guess it kinda lives on in Terraria somewhat, but it is not the same. It doesn't have the same digging and water physics.

I just don't understand why in today's culture of indie games shat onto the market, none of the original devs made any plans to make a new Clonk or a spiritual successor, it really shouldn't be that hard. Keep in mind that it was freeware!

It's particularly sad because I'm certain there's an audience for it nowadays, it just never really managed to reach more than a small international audience. Mages of Mystralia is a cute, well designed game with excellent magic crafting, satisfyingly exploitable combat, good unique puzzles, powerups scattered around an explorable world, and a comfy story with a couple good twists. You faggots never talk about it because you have shit taste in everything.

It's like Ico, yeah. Kid washes ashore on a weird island and has to make his way to the giant lighthouse in the center, then climb it up.
Exploration and puzzles aren't as integrated into the environment as seamlessly as Ico, with more obvious puzzle rooms and shit, but there's some pretty neat ways you can interact with shit. Shadow puzzles, puzzles that fuck around with perspective, swimming puzzles, there's even a level based around getting a giant-ass sentry robot to follow you around and use it for weight puzzles and shit, it's pretty rad

It has that same sort of tranquil feeling that Ico gets, but it's cel-shaded and has a lot more vibrant colors, which is really appealing visually. Maybe ten hours long and only cost thirty bucks at release, so I'd recommend it

It's also a lot more fucking depressing than Ico

The p2w aspects are fluctuating wildly though.

It started off minor, then spiked to awful heights, but there has been surges of free stuff given to players to help even the playing field a bit. Overall pvp wise it's hard to take seriously, but in terms of PvE, community building with guilds and friend making, it's pretty comfy.
