Because in a genre like fighting games where character design is so important, Super is the worst possible DB series to draw characters for. Most of Super's character designs are genuinely terrible. Also worth nothing is how intensive ArcSys' 3D production method is, which makes "extra" characters like Super Goku or Vegeta unlikely.

Then again, this is Bamco we're talking about, I'm sure they aren't above the possibility of making them DLC characters.

There are things about Super I like, I would play Beerus and Jaco.

Beerus, Future Trunks, Hit, and Zamasu would be alright, anyone else, not so much. Also Freiza can turn Golden as a special so I don't see why Goku or Vegeta couldn't go Blue (or Red for Goku)

Goku black is just too similar to Goku to warrant getting a slot, but hell, Robo-Ky exists in Guilty Gear so who knows.

Standalone filler episodes and arcs are great pretty consistently fun in DBZ. The filler arcs generally aren't too long and the standalones either have good comedy like the driving episode or neat encounters like Tao showing up during the build up to the Cell Games or cool characters like Pikkon. Some shonen's filler of this type is shit but DBZ's is nice.

Filler in the sense of bloating powerups and fight scenes across several episodes, especially when that means a single fight can have several different animation directors (including the bad ones), sucks.

There should be a master cut/watchlist of Kai that splices some of the good filler of the uncut show.

They've stated in interviews that the 6 in the demo are the most basic in the roster and that the rest of the cast was chosen specifically for gameplay and not popularity.

Goku/Gohan/Vegeta playing simply and similar to each other makes sense, since they're going to be played a lot. Goku is Ryu, Gohan is Ken, Vegeta is Akuma; if you look at how they differ from each other it's pretty easy to see.

The villains in the demo seem pretty fun and do have some quirks despite being basic. Cell doesn't have a lot of flash in his moveset but his playstyle seems to be keeping up momentum and landing heavy hits constantly; I think I saw someone compare him to Slayer once and that's an okay shout. Frieza has a very in-character playstyle of having good mid-range punishes that allow him to capitalize on his opponent's mistake and go in; his get-up-only super alone is a really cool idea. Buu is the most fun-looking of the 6; he has a bunch of good mid-range/neutral options including some simple mixups and frame traps built into his basic moveset (standing Medium is an overhead; official footage has made it a point to showcase that his explosion super can be used after a bait to punish people due to i-frames and a hit on startup that combos into the main move).

Piccolo & Tien alone will have a lot more to them than those 6, and other fighting game archetypes will be hit with other characters. Broly is almost certain due to being the ideal ArcSys grappler in design.
