Nintendo is probably pissed, but they're not really in a position to lose much. The Switch already has plenty of franchises that the Japanese drool over (Splatoon, Pokemon, Mario, SMT, DQ, even MHXX), and even if SMT goes multiplat it has the advantage of le portable maymay to anchor down a satisfactory amount of Switch sales. By the time MHW comes out all the japanese who plan to buy a new console will most likely have bought a Switch already so I can't see MHW driving up PS4 sales in Japan as much as Sony would hope. Still it will negatively impact Switch and positively impact PS4.

Can't say too much about Western sales though, I don't think there are too many people who bought a 3DS exclusively for MH so I don't know if they're really going to lose more than a few ten thousand Switch sales overseas. Capcom is the only one potentially on ice here.

World is made with MT Framework, Capcom even made a version of the engine called MT Framework Mobile for 3DS and smartphones.

For some reason they didn't want to develop it for Switch. It's definitely not for technical reasons, though.
