I don't really get their arguments for cutting it. I've played it, and just beating the level is not any harder than some other levels like Slippery Climb and Sunset Vista. In fact, I will argue that on a normal playthrough, Slippery Climb is harder because it's only got one checkpoint. Stormy Ascent has plenty. Of course, getting the gem is a completely different story, but still not much harder than Sunset Vista, which is equally long, if not longer.

I didn't pre-order and won't get it until price drop, but I'm really impressed with their "Ground Up" remastering. So many games just update the models SLIGHTLY and the main appeal is being able to play it on your current, non backwards compatible console.
The intros look gorgeous compared to the PS1 versions, if SotC remaster for PS3 was made like this it would've been so much more satisfied.

I was playing Crash 3 earlier today and I noticed that on the intro screen in the copyright text it said Universal blah blah blah, but then it also said Source Code: copyright Naughty Dog.

They never owned the ip, but I think Naughty Dog has full ownership of the engines that the games run on. VV got original level data and probably more from Sony (who squired ND after CTR released). This may end up being a legal clusterfuck trying to release it on any other platform.

Activision is really getting chummy with Sony. They don't want to say it's exclusive because Activision probably has the final say if needed, but I don't think there are plans right now.

The dev is not saying anything because if he goes either way he can get in trouble. Say "it's exclusive" and Activision may be planning for future ports. Say "it's timed exclusive" and Activision migh not really want to port it and now they kinda promised a release date.

The only thing that is true is what the guy said in the interview. It's not a timed exclusive (for now).

We don't know if it will be in the future, but right now, it's not.

But if they care about the game, then all the more reason to make sure to replicate the original effects in a satisfying manner, especially since the details and sound effects were a huge part of what gave Crash character. I like most of what I see but this looks really bad compared to the original. The lights no longer dim, Cortex doesn't get interrupted and they just go back to their neutral face after talking.

There's a jump toward the end with two very quick in and out platforms in perfect sync. You have to jump to the second one almost nanoseconds before it receds. This is why I think they should have got maybe another month or two to iron everything out. From what I've seen the engine and physics are perfect but the animations lack detail and expressiveness. Dingodile is by far the worst offender with his death animation and Tiny is a bit stiff as well. If ND could accomplish this shit back in 1998 there's no excuse today. I'll still enjoy it all but it's a bit disappointing.
