I used to bring my vita to work and remoteplay turn based rpgs like neptunia v-ii and omega quintet all the way from work through the internet back to my ps4. Worked really well for turn based games.

Then they made remote play via pc... so now i just bring my controller and play at my work pc.

Literally pulled my PSP out of storage, stuck a $2 battery inside and now I have a solid portable gaming device with 8gb worth of games right now (compressed). Form factor, display, battery life, library variety - it's all great. I'm so in love again I'm considering a Vita if I could get memory cards on sale.

I'm also blown away by the quality of tooling and cfw for the PSP. You can easily manage tons of hardware-level switches, get full-blown calendaring apps, show detailed battery information, drastically change the UI all really easily. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. The fact you can connect it via usb and swap files on the fly actually makes it feel more modern than a 3DS. The remote ftp on the 3DS is still too buggy to be trusted. Yet despite how vocal the 3DS scene is, hardly anyone is developing for it and most of their features come down to getting X (games, themes, badges) but for free. It's a little depressing, really. Can't even load DS games from SD reliably.
